I am a huge fan of cheeseballs as an appetizer. When I’m helping host a holiday dinner I inevitably volunteer for too many dishes and start feeling totally overwhelmed. It’s so nice to have the option of making your appetizer ahead of time and keeping it in the fridge until guests arrive. One of my big pet peeves with cheeseballs is that so many of them end up being mostly cream cheese with not nearly enough of the mix-ins. That isn’t an issue with this Cranberry Orange Cheeseball at all though.
There are candied pecans, dried cranberries, and orange zest mixed into the cream cheese and also coating the outside of the cheeseball. You can pretty much be guaranteed that every bite will be full of flavor. I served this with some candied cranberries which were a delicious, and beautiful, addition. This would be a great appetizer for your New Year’s Eve party!
