For the last several years I’ve participated in a family fantasy football league. Last year I did shockingly well despite being largely clueless about football, but this year… it has been awful. On paper it seems like my team should be good, and yet it’s been a disaster. I lose by epic margins nearly each week. So, I’ve officially shifted from caring about food and football to just caring about the food. Fingers crossed for better luck next year!
Luckily, I’ve been eating plenty of tasty game day food to make up for the continuous disappointment of my team. This cheeseball was one of my favorite items from last year’s football season and I was excited to bring it back this year. I always get annoyed by cheeseballs that are basically just cream cheese with a few tiny pieces of flavorful ingredients. I made sure to avoid that and packed this cheeseball with pecans, cheese, green onion, and jalapeno so that each bite has plenty of flavor. You can even add some bacon if you’re into that kind of thing.
Shaping it into a pumpkin is totally option, but it’s cute and easy if you want to take that extra step. Either way it will be delicious!
